Team Suit Use and Care
To ensure your team suit remains in great condition and provides optimal performance, please follow these guidelines:
Use:
-
Wear During Practice and Meets:
- Designated Use: Team suits should be worn exclusively for swim meets. Avoid wearing them to practice to prolong their lifespan.
-
Avoid Chemicals:
- No Sunblock or Lotion: Apply sunblock and lotions before putting on your team suit to prevent damage and discoloration.
- Avoid Chlorine Exposure: While the suit is designed for swim environments, minimizing exposure to chlorine and other chemicals when not in use is beneficial.
-
Proper Fit:
- Correct Size: Ensure the suit fits properly; it should be snug but not overly tight. Consult with team representatives if you’re unsure about sizing.
Care:
-
Rinsing and Washing:
- Rinse Immediately: After each use, rinse the suit thoroughly with cold water to remove chlorine and other residues. Do not wring out the suit.
- Hand Wash Only: Wash the suit by hand in cold water with a mild detergent specifically designed for swimwear. Avoid using fabric softeners or bleach.
-
Drying:
- Air Dry: Gently squeeze out excess water without twisting or wringing. Lay the suit flat to dry on a clean towel, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Do not use a dryer.
-
Storage:
- Cool, Dry Place: Store the dry suit in a cool, dry place. Avoid keeping it in damp or hot environments, which can degrade the fabric.
-
Avoid Common Pitfalls:
- No Washing Machines: Do not machine wash or tumble dry the suit, as this can damage the fabric and elastic.
- No Ironing: Do not iron the suit. The heat can damage the material and affect its performance.
Additional Tips:
- Inspect Regularly: Check the suit for any signs of wear and tear. If you notice any issues, such as loose threads or fading, consult with team officials for advice.
- Proper Handling: Handle the suit gently to avoid snagging or stretching the fabric.
By following these guidelines, your team suit will remain in top condition, ensuring both longevity and performance throughout the season.
